How to use Chrome screen share

To set up Chrome screen share, you must first ensure your browser is updated. Click the three dots at the top right in Chrome, select Settings. Scroll down to Privacy and Security then to Site Settings. Under Permissions, click Screen Share then make sure your settings are set to allow access for the sites you use such as Google Meet or Zoom.

During a meeting or event, Chrome allows for screen sharing by simply clicking on the appropriate button labeled Share Screen. You are then prompted with if you will share all of your screen, a window, or even just a browser tab. You then select what fits best for what you have to present.

For example, if you’re running a webinar and only need to show a PowerPoint presentation, you can just select that window and avoid sharing your whole screen.

Google Chrome screen share is quite common in virtual meetings, webinars, and hybrid events. It integrates quite well with the likes of Zoom and Microsoft Teams, allowing event participants to view your screen in real time. First, make sure you have a strong enough connection so that delays in changes or disconnects don’t occur.

For hybrid events with InterpretCloud, Chrome screen share becomes even more useful by adding real-time interpretation services to your content since interpreters will be translating your presentation simultaneously to a global audience. This allows seamless communication among global attendees and ensures that your message reaches every corner.

Always remember to test your Chrome screen share in advance of the event to avoid last-minute technical issues.
